Epp Siepman Engineering was prime consultant for the replacement of a 350 ton chiller and associated cooling tower on the 18-storey Medical Arts building. This work involved the construction of a knockout panel, the removal by crane of the chiller and tower from the penthouse mechanical area, installation of new chiller and tower, and the construction of a new Class T mechanical room around the chiller, including required ventilation and alarm systems. We developed the budget and schedule, completed the design, and managed the project through construction to ensure the project was completed on time for the spring cooling season. We were able to facilitate the client receiving an incentive from Manitoba Hydro of $29,279 due to the efficiency of the new chiller. The project was delivered on time and on budget.
