Le Cercle Moliere Theatre is a performing arts centre serving the oldest theatre company in Canada. The project consists of a new building connected with an overhead link to the existing Franco Manitoban Centre. The overhead link contains offices for the theatre staff. The 21,000 sf building accommodates a 125 seat “black box” theatre, lobby/bar area, practice room, green rooms, change rooms, and offices. The mechanical systems were designed to meet stringent requirements for acoustics. A unique displacement ventilation system was used in the theatre to keep air velocity and sound to a minimum yet provide good quality ventilation and cooling to the occupants. In-floor radiant heat was used in the Lobby and Practice Room. The project is LEED Silver Certified.
